Chip selection guide

To ensure optimal results, XanTec offers an extensive range of different sensor chips spanning a variety of polymers, densities, thicknesses and capture molecules. The following charts may serve as orientation to find the optimal chip surface dependent on assay format, type of interaction and interacting (bio-) molecules.

AntibodiesRecombinant Protein A/G derivatized CMD or HC polymer. It consists of 7 IgG-binding domains and its binding capacity is broader than either Protein A or Protein G alone. Protein A/G binds reversible and directed to all human IgG subclasses, IgA, IgE, IgM and to a lesser extent IgD; however, it does not bind mouse IgA, IgM or murine serum albumin.PAGD50, -200, -500 &-700L/M

Letter codes represent different available hydrogel thicknesses and/or porosities. In the case of dextran-based hydrogels, 4 different thicknesses (20, 50, 200 and 700 nm) can be combined with 3 chain densities (low, medium and dense). The full product code would - for example - be SCBS CMD 200M, which stands for Sensor Chip Biacore™ series S compatible Carboxymethyldextran 200 nm, Medium density hydrogel. The standard functional group density of the modified dextrans is one per anhydroglucose unit. Lower degrees of functionalization, which can be useful to reduce non-specific interactions, are available as well.

XanTec’s product code nomenclature: Starting with the abbreviation for the SPR system used (red), the abbreviation for the polymer or polymer modification (blue) follows. This is combined with the hydrogel thickness (green), the hydrogel density (magenta), and the number of sensor chips per pack. (gray)
